A field trip to the zoo, Asia style!

Daddy's class took a trip to the zoo and our whole family got to go along. To prepare for it, Mom taught us some animal names in our new language. Our favorite was learning the word for hippopotamus, it translates "River Horse!"

Just to get to the zoo was a lot of fun! First, we had to take a taxi, then a bus (Savannah is sitting with our friend Mr. David) and then we had to do some walking.

Then we finally made it to the zoo and took a picture to celebrate!
We saw a panda . . .

 and hippo's.
One building just had a fire going with lots of coal bricks on the outside!
This bird bobbed it's head up and down to match AJ's heads movements, it was so funny :)

The zoo was kind of big and we had to do a lot of walking to get from one animal to another.  There were no pretzel stands or hotdog stands. No souvenir shops.  There were lots of weeds and most of the cages were just cement blocks.  But, the outside animal cages were pretty nice. It wasn't like a zoo we are used to, but we liked it a lot!
Savannah liked the big elephant.

But she like the seal show even better!
The seal did lots of tricks . . .
And Chloe did a trick of her own :)
It sure was fun.
We even got to have our picture taken with the seal!
Can you guess what this is?  It's a liger! Part tiger, part lion!
Our friend brought a cooked chicken and threw it to the liger!
AJ and her leopard.
This is the coolest panther we have ever seen! Do you like it?
A view of the mountains and big bird cages.
Then we stumbled upon a park . . . that wasn't working. Daddy put us in the ship and then pushed it so we could have a boat ride!
Our friend, Mr. Brian, pushed the plane back and forth so Chloe could swing in the plane.
Then Dad pushed us in this rocket ride, we went around and around.
This slide was really tall, but didn't go very fast.
Then, it was time for a bus tour through a different part of the zoo. It was so cool! There were hundreds of animals roaming around. In this section there were deer, camel, goats, and other animals all grazing together.
Wilda-beasts!
Zebra's.

AJ and Daddy see a giraffe.
A white tiger crossing right in front of us!
Lion.
This was the saddest part of the zoo. They called it "puppy paradise" but it was more like "doggie prison".  There were dozens of dogs in cement cages with mangy hair, sores on their legs and raspy barks.
We got to ride this camel, it was really fun!
Pretty peacocks :)
Chloe just loved this elephant statue!

We all had a great time at the zoo!

  1. Yes, I love the panther and all the other cool animals! I also really like the "do it yourself" amusement park. The rides are never long enough when there is someone there to push the buttons anyway! Also - no lines for you! Woo Hoo!!! Love you all!
